Mission Code is a unique summer camp experience that allows kids to learn essential coding skills while also engaging in active games and hands-on learning. Kids will develop computational thinking and problem solving skills in an online game environment where you give a robot a set of instructions to follow in order to solve the level. Each coding session provides kids with a fundamental skill set including algorithms, functions, relative directions and sequences. The combination of online activities paired with engaging offline activities like scavenger hunts, programming a witty robot, inventing a droid, code-cracking mysteries and team robotics challenges that keep kids active and reinforce coding skills is a winning formula for fun in the summer! Children will be given access to this coding platform for up to 1 year. Additional take-homes include building and developing a board game and puzzles that help children practice their computational skills at home.

Additional Information

Coding Camp: Astounding Algorithim
You may not have known this, but algorithms are quite astounding! From self-driving cars to the instructions you follow to get ready for camp, algorithms are everywhere! Campers take a deep dive into variables, conditionals, and loops.
Coding Camp: Dig Into Debugging
Algorithmic thinking will become a super power in this camp day all about breaking down problems and conceptualizing solutions. Campers learn the importance of teamwork when solving problems.
Coding Camp: Encryption In Action
There is no shortage of algorithmic action in this camp day all about program flow, refactoring, and keeping algorithms secret. Campers will continue to explore and deepen their knowledge of these coding concepts in our online gaming platform.
Coding Camp: Far Out Functions
Campers will put their sequencing and problem solving skills to the test as they learn to use relative directions and functions as they continue to rise to higher levels in our online coding platform.
Coding Camp: Sick Sequences
Campers learn why coding drives innovation and how sequences are used to tell computers what to do. They build this fundamental skill by sequencing their robot through a minefield with their friends in this first day introduction to our online platform.
