After School Programs
My daughter is a 3rd grader at Saco's Burns School. She's loving the Mad Science After-School program. And we both like the take-home activities. They're fun & they're great springboards for us to learn and talk with each other about science & the world. Sometimes our home experiments have gone great, other times they've been a bit disastrous! But they're always fun and help get the mind going.
My son turned 5 and this is our very first Mad Science Party! Everyone in my family keep raving how cool it was. Our Mad scientist for the day "Echo", entertained the kids great and everyone did not seemed bored for one minute. Our theme was Bubble-ology and it was fantastic from beginning to end! I really recommend this venue for any kind of party at all. Thank you for the wonderful experience we had.
My daughter is eight and was a little hesitant about going on Monday morning. At pick up on Monday she couldnot stop talking about all the things they did. My laid back 11 year old son was just as chatty and when the week of Reactions in Action camp was over I asked him what he thought of his week. His response was "Mom, it was facinating!!" I couldn't have asked for more. We are excited about next year. My son hopes that you create a camp for 13 and up.
The robotics camp was a HUGE hit with our nearly 8-year old daughter. She was so excited to bring home her own creation each day and to tell us what she learned about electricity. I was impressed with the creativity and physics involved in getting the robots to move 'just so.' I was very happy to find this robotics camp for the younger age to capitalize on her love of science that is just blooming. The location was convenient with easy, safe access. There were a fair number of girls enrolled as well which is becoming more important as she gets older. Thanks so much! We will look to do this one again.
After School Programs
The "Superhero Science Show" literally ended our summer reading program with a BANG! This was a great family-friendly event that really got everyone excited about science, superheroes, and the world around them. Directly after the program, four science experiment books were checked out of our library. I'd call that a successful program!
