Whether you are coordinating after-school programming or are looking for an innovative program to offer at a community center or library, Mad Science offers a range of flexible and affordable after-school programs. We work with Schools, Recreation Departments, Community Centers, PTO's, HomeSchool Groups, and non-profits to bring science enrichment after school. If you are a principal or teacher of an elementary school, a Recreation department member, or a community member interested in Science Enrichment for your community, Mad Science can help you do just that!
Our hands-on, interactive after school science enrichment programs are appropriate for K-5 Grade students and require virtually no work on your part. Mad Science handles all the administrative details including registration and rosters. All you need to do is provide us with a room and allow us to distribute the registration fliers. The typical program meets once a week for one-hour for a duration of a 4 - 6 weeks after school. Parents pay Mad Science directly or register with local recreation departments to have their child participate. This program can also be grant funded for those schools that have enrichment funds. PTO/PTA's will often subsidize registration fee for some students that apply. We are very flexible and can work with just about any schools needs. Just let us know what we can do to bring quality science enrichment to your community.

SCHOOL/ ORGANIZATION GRANT FUNDED PROGRAM:
We have After School enrichment partnerships all over the state of Maine. Some of our partnerships are a year old while others have been developed across the span of 13 years. For example, we work with PTO's at Lyman Elementary, Pownal Elementary, the Bowdoin Central School, and many other communities. In many instances, we also partner directly with Schools in communities such as Portland, South Portland, Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Sanford, North Berwick, Limington, Topsham, and more. We have a very long list of Recreation Partners in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Biddeford, Brunswick, Freeport, Yarmouth, Biddeford, Gorham, Westbrook, Gray, and the list goes on. We also even partner with nonprofits such as Learning Works and even Homeschool Groups. Contact Taryn Friedman, firstname.lastname@example.org to learn about who we partner with in your area.
Students get a jump on the new NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) by participating in a high quality, hands-on science program. Standards are no longer about just learning concepts. The NGSS are all about students being able to DO things with their science knowledge. Mad Science provides the perfect vehicle to experience hands-on success with new and challenging scientific ideas. Students can then build on their positive experiences and go as far as their abilities will take them in the pursuit of STEM careers and even future scientific breakthroughs!...Sorry! We get excited just thinking about the possibilities! Contact Mad Science for details on how our after-school programs and classroom workshops correlate with NGSS and STEM. Start a Mad Science program at your school and you'll be WAAAAY out in front of this exciting movement in science education!
