Q: How will the Mad Science instructor be able to teach Kindergarten through 6th grade all in one class?

Mad Science curriculum is written for ages 5-12 years old. Each instructor is trained on how to teach the class content to two different age groups; K-2 & 3-6. In the event that we have both groups together, the instructor will teach the class both ways at the same time by using simple science vocabulary and concepts for the younger group and more challenging principals and explanations for the older children.

Q: Will I receive confirmation of my child’s registration?

Upon registration, you will receive a receipt via e-mail if you have provided a valid email address. Mad Science will also attempt to e-mail you prior to the start of the program to confirm your child’s registration and inform you of the meeting location at the school.

Q: I see that the Mad Science class is scheduled to begin 10 to 15 minutes after the children are out of school. Who is responsible for my child during this time?

Mad Science is not responsible for children before or after the stated class time. This time is used by our instructor to set up for the class and get the classroom ready for the students to safely enter. You should instruct your child to use the restroom, get a drink of water and/or eat a quick snack during this time. The students are to then quietly line up outside of the Mad Science classroom and wait for the instructor to let them inside.

Q: Will my child be picked up from his classroom by the Mad Science instructor?

Unless otherwise stated by Mad Science, you are responsible for your child getting to each Mad Science class. We will attempt to email you before the class starts with the classroom location, dates and times. Mad Science provides the school office staff with a copy of the roster at the beginning of each class. We ask that they provide a copy of this roster to any after school child care on site. We suggest that you talk to your child’s school teacher/extended care provider and ask them to remind your child that “today” is Mad Science. Please be reminded that Mad Science is NOT responsible for your child getting to class.
